David Morton, PNFS Signposts Officer, writes: On checking signposts 299 and 300 in Tom Wood, Mottram, I had a look at our bridge 13 on Charlesworth FP 62, following alarming rumours that it had been washed away then reinstated. That bridge is intact, but the other DCC bridge upstream of it has lost one of its abutments due to severe erosion and is sitting in the stream bed. Hence Charlesworth FP 64 is closed, pending the replacement of the bridge, as is Bridge 10 over Shelf Brook on the Doctors Gate Path.
