The society's claim for a DMMO in respect of Silverdale footpath 14 [map] was rejected by Lancashire County Councillors, who voted against the recommendations of their Rights of Way Officer. Following legal advice the society has appealed against the decision. The county council's web site carries a full report by the RoW  Officer and a video of the committee meeting where the decision was taken - see item 5. Also on that page are the very comprehensive officers' report and two helpful plans, one showing the general location of Brown's Houses and the other the detail of the brown route and the other routes referred to in the officers' report.
