Our new signpost 635 at grid ref. SK 00458 86021, on the Sett Valley Way, above Salem Bridge and Hydebank Road has been vandalised and then stolen over the last few days. (Click HERE to view the signpost and its location) The sign was erected on 6th May. It was reported by a local horse rider as being uprooted and lying flat on the ground on 7th May. She then temporarily re-instated it, before it was reported as missing/stolen on or before 27th May. The horse rider made an unsuccessful attempt to find it. Our signpost officer, David Morton, has reported the matter to the police. You may recall that back in July 2019, our new toposcope 3 was stolen from Win Hill above Hope Woodlands. The theft was also reported to the police.
